Shoes to Bring to College

Okay, I'm going to say it. I have a shoe addiction. What can I say? I love shoes. I believe that if there is one item in college that you need a selection of it's shoes. Why? Because shoes are what make your outfit complete. Without them, you'd be running around with bare feet and probably wouldn't be comfortable. Plus, your outfit would be like, ten times less cute. So I'm here to share with you some shoes I recommend you bring to college.

1. Tennis Shoes/Workout Shoes
The first pair of shoes I recommend is a shoe that will give you great support when you're working out. A lot of people work out in college in the gyms that they can access with their student ID card. With the right pair of workout shoes you'll always have motivation to go to the gym or just take a run outside. Not to mention you'll be staying healthy with all the exercise you'll be doing!

2. Ballet Flats
Ballet flats are the best kind of shoe to have because they're so easy to wear and look insanely cute. These shoes are my go to shoes in the mornings when I've overslept but still want to look put-together, ya know? You don't have to worry about lacing or zipping them up, just slip on and go!

3. Vans Style Shoes
These work wonders on those casual days where you don't want to wear shoes that aren't so sturdy or shoes that are ready to go hiking in the wilderness. Vans Style shoes are the perfect solution because they are casual but are cute. Not to mention you can walk around a theme park or go on a long walking tour without wanting to kill your feet.  The best part? They don't even have to be Vans. Yes the shoe style is in and it's a brand but I found some shoes at Payless that looked exactly like Vans and I got a ton of compliments on them. It also doesn't hurt to mention they were way cheaper.

4. Combat Boots
We all have those days when we want to channel our inner bad-ass. Combat boots are the perfect way to amp up your outfit and be totally comfortable doing it. Now the boots I'm talking about can be combat boots or combat like boots. Either way these boots come in a wide range of colors, boot lengths and heel heights. Just zipper or lace them up and you've created some instant edge to any outfit. Perfect for those cold fall days when you want to warm up or a nice spring day when you feel good enough to conquer the world!

5. Black Pumps
Classic. That's all I have to say. Black pumps should be owned by all women because of how versatile they are. You can wear them causally or formally and they give you an instant confidence booster. Who doesn't like to strut around in heels? They go with any outfit, are sold at lots of stores and are very affordable. They come in different heel styles and heights so you can get a pair you feel comfortable in. Plus, heels make your butt and chest look great! So what's not to love about them?

6. Sandals
Sandals are great for spring and summer time because you get to wear them and add something extra to any outfit. The great thing about sandals is that because they are sandals, you can wear them places that flip flops just aren't allowed. If you go to a school that doesn't allow 'no back heel' shoe (crazy yes, but they do exist) these do have a back strap that goes around your heel so you're all set!

7. Flip Flops
For the flip flops I recommend you bring two pairs to school. One pair should be cute and the other should be water resistant or ones that are safe to wear in water. The first pair should be cute because we all have those days when we want out feet to be free! The other pair should be water resistant so you can wear them in the shower. Unless you're lucky enough to have your own shower, you'll probably be sharing with several other girls. Can we talk about how dirty that's going to be? So in order to feel cleaner and avoid athlete's foot, bring some shower shoes. You can buy some at Target for less than five dollars so go and get on that!

8. Boots
Boots, my favorite fall shoe. The reason why I absolutely love boots is because they slip on and off and they're just so cute! You can choose from ankle, knee high or thigh high and choose your heel width as well. No matter how experienced you are wearing boots I guarantee you will love boots during the fall and winter seasons since they keep your legs warm and toasty.

9. Rain Boots
Does it rain a lot a your school? Rain boots are a must then. These boots will keep you dry during the rainy days and because so many places sell them now, you have a world of rain boots at your fingertips. Not to mention you can splash in as many puddles you want since you're wearing your great boots and you're parents aren't there to tell you not too! Hooray for college and adulthood!

10. Bold Shoes
This is a vague item but it's supposed to be. Bold shoes can be anything you want them to be. If your idea of bold shoe is a colored ballet flat? Awesome! If it's some sparkling platform cheetah pumps, great! The bold pair of shoes is supposed to be a pair of shoes you feel comfortable but unstoppable in. You define the word bold because if you feel like it's bold then that will show on the outside and you'll walk a little taller!

These shoes are all ones I'm bringing to college. You know the best part? They didn't cost me a fortune. Payless is like my holy grail of shoe stores and then there are places like TJ Maxx and Marshalls you can buy brand name shoes for less than retail. You can find shoes anywhere and getting them for a discount is even better!

All the best! -Becca
